 1. Reaction Shot  This is a Reaction Shot. In the film, Katniss and Peeta the previous victors of the Hunger Games visit the districts and pay respects to the fallen tributes. Their presence sparks a revolution in which people are speaking out against the corrupt government. In this case, one man showed his support for Katniss, however, it did not play out fully in his favor as he was then shot. This video shows Katniss and Peeta reacting to the gunshot.  2. Follow Shot  This is a Follow Shot. In this scene, Katniss and Peeta are at a party at President Snow's house. Their escort, Effie Trinket, is leading them into the party. The video shows the camera as it moves with Effie as she walks through the aisle and into the house.  3. Over-The-Shoulder  This is an Over-the-Shoulder Shot. Chelsey Chambers - Extreme Close Up, Point of View, Two Shot   Hi Chelsey! Great job on your storyboard - I loved it!! Your Extreme Close-Up shot was great! It was really cool and it felt as if we were having somewhat of a staring contest with your cat (and I'm sure your cat loved the camera so up close haha).   I also enjoyed your Point of View shot. The way you captured it worked really well because it made it as if we were in the eyes of your cat.   Finally, your Two-Shot made me smile! It looked like you actually were having a full-on conversation. The framing of it worked perfectly for the shot!   Lissa Mann - Freeze-Frame, Reaction Shot, Head-On Shot  Hey Lissa! You did a great job, I loved your storyboard!   I thought your freeze-frame shot was done really well! It was like I pressed pause on the video.   Also, your reaction shot made me smile! The framing was great and your mom's acting was awesome!! I also liked your head-on shot. The way...

10 Storyboard Shots

 1. Low Angle Shot Here is a Low-Angle Shot. A Low-Angle Shot is filmed from down low, looking up at the subject. In this video, the camera is looking up at my mom. To film this, I had to get on the ground in front of my mom in order to have the camera look up her.  2. Reaction Shot This is a Reaction Shot. A Reaction Shot is a shot of the subject reacting to something off camera. Here, my mom is reacting to what she sees off camera. To film this, I had my mom react to something in front of her once I hit play.  3. Extreme Close Up Shot This is an Extreme Close Up Shot. In this shot, the camera magnifies a small detail, such as the subject's eyes. In my video, you see my mom's pretty eye. To film this, I put the camera very close to my mom's eye.  4. Follow Shot This is a Follow Shot. In a Follow Shot, the camera follows the subject, Here, you see the camera following my mom walking. To film this, I had my mom walk forward through our house and I followed her with th...

Why AICE Media Studies?

I chose to join AICE Media Studies because I think the film industry is very interesting. Growing up I would make movie trailers with my family and friends, I loved taking pictures and being in front of the camera. Now that I've gotten older, I think it will be very interesting to learn about the film through a different lens and understand all the different aspects. Whether as a creater or viewer, our generation has somewhat developed with the media. It now has become the center for how our society functions. The media has the power to influence our thoughts, emotions, and perspectives on life. It is because of this that makes me very excited to dive further into this field of study and have my knowledge and appreciation for the media grow.
